Ben Hancox-Lachman is a young local tenor at the start of his career

Ben is undertaking a PhD in Biochemistry at Imperial College London and is establishing himself as a tenor specialising in song and oratorio.

Recent engagements include the title role in Handel’s Samson, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, and the role of Don Curzio in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro with Harrow Opera. He has also performed an extensive repertoire in recital, including Schumann’s Dichterliebe, Beethoven’s An die ferne Geliebte, and works by composers from Brahms to Britten. In August Ben recorded ‘Love, Friendship and Longing’, a group of Tang Dynasty poems set to music by composer Nicholas Smith, and premiered John Hawkins’ song cycle Both Beauties.
