Marcus balances a busy performing schedule with his love for teaching the next generation of brass players.
Marcus started learning the trumpet in Coventry aged 6 and was taught by his father, himself a professional trumpet player. He continued his musical studies in London taught by Colin Clague, John Wallace and James Watson at the Royal Academy of Music.
Marcus has performed throughout Europe, Canada and the United States of America in many of the world’s finest concert venues, such as The Royal Albert Hall, St John’s Smith Square, The Barbican, Festival Hall and St Martin in the Fields in London, as well as Glyndebourne Opera House, Stirling Castle, The Winspear Centre in Canada and The Lincoln Centre and Carnegie Hall in New York. Marcus has enjoyed performing on television and on BBC Radio 3 including a world premier for HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
Marcus has performed in Chiltern Philharmonic Orchestra, The Westminster Symphony Orchestra, The Herb Miller Orchestra, Jubilate Brass, Inspiritus Brass and Long Man Brass. He continues to perform throughout the year in solo recitals, orchestras, chamber groups, weddings, and other events. He even finds time to conduct the local brass band!

He is currently the Development and Partnership Manager for Create Music with over 25 years of teaching experience, regularly conducting and leading ensembles and bands including the East Sussex Brass Band, arranging concerts, tours and music centre classes, with many of his former pupils having gained multiple places at leading music conservatoires and working in the music profession.
Rosie is based in East Sussex and performs widely throughout the area and has also sung at London’s Natural History Museum for BBC Children In Need.

Modulus Quartet specialises in performing original string quartet repertoire written in close collaboration with a number of international composers. The quartet explores new ways of presenting music, performing in unusual venues and incorporating visual arts and multi-media technology.
Nancy Cooley lives locally in East Sussex. She is Artistic Director of the Lewes Festival of Song which she set up in 2015 and performs in the UK and abroad as a solo and chamber musician.
Matthew Fletcher is a sought-after pianist and répétiteur, a member of Glyndebourne Opera Festival’s music staff since 2012, and winner of the Das Lied and Kathleen Ferrier accompanist prizes.
